Crown of the Heavens previews began January 14th. Set Lead Designer Ben Stoll shared a dozen cards from the new set, highlighting the different mechanics and keywords that would be present in the seventeenth set for the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.

On the 15th, Daily Metagame's own Tim Rivera got a chance to unveil two of the Alliance cards coming from the second set in the Aftermath Block. You can see all of the previews on our Facebook page as they are unveiled everywhere, but I wanted to show off the three rare/epic Alliance cards that were revealed. It looks like the blue team's getting some serious love!

Malfurion is back, and he's playing strictly for the blue team this time around. And man, is he a beast. His 8 health, seen on his version from War of the Elements, has remained, but he's got a cost reduction and a small upgrade in ATK. On top of that, he's got two massive effects attached to him. Resource acceleration and card draw? Sign me up!

4 ATK is nothing to sneeze at for three resources. This guy's massive, and his drawback is almost negligible, especially if you've got an ally to trade with something on the opponent's field already. And of course, tokens. This guy loves seeing tokens on your side of the field going up in smoke. When you've got an army of tokens (like from the card below) ready to suicide into something, Gerrunge becomes a huge source of health restoration!

Tyrande is back, and she brought pals. More like a posse. Gang. Army. I don't really know which word best describes the number of Wisps she can summon into play. I think we're looking at one of the big-bruiser epics of the set here! She hits the field hard, and if she and her Wisps aren't answered quickly, she will quickly put your opponent in a world of hurt, as she heals your wounds and inflicts some serious burn to the opposing hero.

What do you guys think? Will we see a huge shift to Alliance once Crown of the Heavens is legal for Constructed? Let us know in the forums!
